dinner next to a castle - Vienna

Night 1... Elizabeth, Vince, the two doggies, and I went into the city for dinner at a lovely traditional Viennese restaurant... next to a castle! The building actually was part of the castle grounds I think.

Like Italy - dogs are generally well behaved... and can go on public transport, inside shops and restaurants... and well, it really seems like basically anywhere! Pancho and Bonita - the two dogs, loved going to dinner with us in the city : )

I ordered the traditional dish of Wiener Schnitzel - so good!

Returning to Elizabeth and Vince's apartment in the afternoon of my first day felt good. I had been up since 4:00am for the flight... and Vince and I adventured around the city during the day. Their apartment is next to the Vienna International Center (see the cool steps below) - and also very close to the office for the United Nations!

We spent some down time at the apartment with the doggies... Elizabeth got home from the work day... I enjoyed the lovely view with the sun setting in the distance... and then we headed out for dinner in the city!

Freud's House and Votive Church - Vienna

Still Day 1 in Vienna -- Vince and I walked around, enjoying the city on a simply gorgeous day. We headed toward's his favorite vintage shop (YES!!)... in the area with Vienna's Votive Church (Votivkirche), as well as Freud's House/Museum!

Mmmmmm - Vince had the creme brulee and I ate that entire chocolate mousse seen below!

buskers - Vienna

Buskers, or street performers, can be found playing a variety of instruments throughout the city. Supposedly it is illegal... but I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment. A man playing classical music on a flute while exiting the metro?? -- Yes, please! : )

The very first busker I found in Vienna --> a HORSE playing the accordion!
